Let me ask you a question…..Would you hire the same attorney that is representing the party that is suing you?  I hope your answer is no!  Well, that is the same situation when you go directly to a listing agent to buy a property as a buyer.  A listing agent is has a legal obligation to represent his/her seller and their best interest, yet many buyers believe that by going to a listing agent directly and bypassing a buyer’s agent will help them save money, and I am here to tell you that this is not the case!  Check out this short video and learn about the 4 reasons why using the listing agent is not in your best interest and learn why having a buyer’s agent to represent you exclusively is priceless.

Great point Rob!

I’ve always recommended that a home buyer should get an agent to represent them during the buying process and after. However, I’ve never specifically mentioned that they shouldn’t use the seller’s agent, and should have – there’s no way an agent can represent both sides equally.

Hey Jayson, thx for your feedback! It happens so much in the area that I specialize in and I think it is important that buyers know what they are getting into before they commit! Most still think that if they work with the sellers agent, they will get a better deal, and that is so far off from the truth. Like you said, it is impossible to give equal service to both parties that are both trying to get the “best deal”.
